"Recycling Day" Community Engagement Activities

In June 2026, the EPD, together with 12 Recycling Stations across the territory, and "Recycling Day" partners, will organise "Recycling Day" educational activitiesas at various community locations. Through a range of activities such as booth games and workshops, these activities aim to actively promote waste separation at source and clean recycling within the community. For details of the activities, please click here.

The EPD encourages participation from all sectors of the community, including schools, housing estates, and non-profit organisations, to organise environmental recycling education activities in June within their campuses, housing estates or at community venues. Together, we can spread the awareness of waste reduction and recycling from schools and communities to all citizens of Hong Kong, embedding a green, waste-reducing, and recycling lifestyle within our communities.

Interested organisations and district community groups may submit applications to the EPD, providing a brief description of their proposed activities. By organising waste reduction and recycling-related events during June, they can become a partner of this year’s "Recycling Day". The EPD will issue certificates of appreciation and distribute limited-edition Big Waster promotional gifts to participating organisations to encourage public engagement. Gift quantities are limited and will be available while stocks last. For application details, please click here by 29 May 2026.

"Recycling Day" Creative Short Film Competition

To encourage the public to showcase their creativity and promote the concepts of waste reduction and recycling in engaging ways, the EPD will organise the "Recycling Day" Creative Short Film Competition. We cordially invite members of the public to capture and share the message of waste separation at source and recycling through their lenses, reaching more people. Details will be announced in early-June 2026.

We sincerely invite all sectors of the community and members of the public to join "Recycling Day", integrating waste reduction and recycling in daily life, and working together to create a more beautiful Hong Kong!
